I am writing in response to your recent articles and editorial
about obtaining auto insurance. We wholeheartedly agree with your
editorial that "protecting consumers is the state's best policy -- and
top priority."
The remainder of your editorial, however, is flawed. Under the
Producer Standards of Conduct, "if the request for a quotation was made
orally, the agent or broker may provide the applicant with an oral
quotation, but shall provide the applicant at minimum with information
about rate ...
