RIDGEWOOD -- Thanks to the generosity of two village residents, a 35-year-old
European beech tree that stood in the way of the library's expansion
project has been uprooted to spare it from the chain saw.
The 13-ton tree was moved from its spot along the drive leading
into the municipal complex and replanted less than a block away, north
of Village Hall.
