Is legendary former Phillies' pitcher Steve Carlton an anti-semite?
According to remarks attributed to "Lefty in the April issue of Philadelphia magazine, the answer is yes.
But in a statement released Wednesday, Carlton denied making remarks such as "the Elders of Zion rule the world," and "12 Jewish bankers meeting in Switzerland rule the world," as reported in the magazine.
He accused reporter Pat Jordan of fabricating the story.
Jordan, reached in Florida, said in response to Carlton's statement, "Everything I wrote, he said."
