Continuing a two-year buying spree of consumer-service companies,
HFS Inc. the Parsippany-based real estate and hospitality franchise
conglomerate, said Wednesday that it will pay $480 million in cash for
Jackson Hewitt Inc., the nation's second-largest tax-preparation
service.
Jackson Hewitt, based in Virginia Beach, Va., has nearly 2,000
