New Jersey lawmakers and prosecutors are considering expanding DNA
testing of criminals, but apparently not the sort of sweeping increase
outlined Monday by New York City Police Commissioner Howard Safir.

Safir unveiled a plan to take the unique genetic blueprints from
every suspect who is arrested and entering the results into a database
