Congress and the White House keep talking about Social Security
reform and saving Social Security. They can do both by just getting
Social Security off of the unified budget and putting all the Social
Security tax collected into a protected fund to be used for Social
Security benefits only.
Under current law, Social Security deductions that are not needed to
pay current retiree benefits go directly into the federal budget to pay
