Pascrell Bill To Make Bottled Water Test Results Public Is Approved By. Assembly

The Assembly approved legislation that would intensify New Jersey's effort to ensure that the quality of bottled water meets state standards for purity and safety.

The bill (A-465), sponsored by Assemblyman William J. Pascrell, Jr. (D- Pascrell), would require the Department of Health to conduct spot checks of water quality and to summarize all test results in an annual report.

"The bill will encourage Department of Health officials to conduct spot checks to assure the public that the quality of bottled water is being carefully monitored by the state," Pascrell said.
