An out-of-work landscaper who held up an Upper Saddle River bank
last year with an unloaded gun and then took a police officer's bullet
in the shoulder during his getaway pleaded guilty to armed robbery and
kidnapping charges Tuesday.
As his trial was set to begin in Superior Court, Franklin Russo
surprised prosecutors and pleaded guilty to a nine-count indictment
