LAST summer, when Kathleen Murphy was approached by the Film Society of Lincoln Center to organize an Irish film festival, she jumped at the chance and headed off to Ireland for what she believed would be a relatively undemanding exercise. She soon discovered a wealth of films that were virtually unknown to even the Irish general public.
