Before old acquaintances be forgot, and never again brought to
mind, let's take a look back at 1995. Here, in one humble scribe's
opinion, are the 10 Most Significant Events affecting North Jersey
consumers:
1. Red ink. Trader Horn closed. Jamesway is doing the same. Rickel
is hurting. So are Kmart, Caldor, and Bradlees. It's been a tough year
for many of the region's best-known retailers, which have struggled to
stay solvent in a changing environment.
