Ford Fund Donates $250,000 To Howard University.

Ford Motor Company Fund has donated $250,000 to Howard University to support academic scholarships for outstanding students, augmenting a $1 million endowment grant the automaker made to the university in 1989.

Because major endowment grants to Howard University are matched dollar-for-dollar by the federal government, Ford's financial support to the university will effectively yield $2.5 million. Howard University, located in Washington, D.C., is one of the nation's leading historically Black academic institutions.
