When Christina Brino went blind at birth 34 years ago, she says,
"My mother didn't know where to turn."

Somehow her mother found the state Commission for the Blind and
Visually Impaired office in Paterson, just next door to Wayne, where the
Brinos lived.

"They worked with me," Brino remembers. "The commission provided a
teacher in our home so I could learn Braille and typing. They arranged
for me to get books in Braille as I went through school.
