I am pleased The Record is continuing to follow the movements of
the SS United States ("Keeping a dream afloat," Aug. 21). Many longtime
employees of United States Lines, the former owners, live in New Jersey
and New York, and are deeply sentimental about the vessel and follow
its career closely, even in its current state of lay-up.
