WEST MILFORD -- It's payback time for aquatic weeds in Greenwood Lake: State parks
officials this week approved a 5-foot drawdown that will let killer
frosts get at the roots of the weeds that have been clogging propellers,
snaring fishing lines, and bothering swimmers.
The gradual drawdown of the lake by 3 billion gallons will begin
Tuesday and will reach its target depth by mid-December, officials said.
