Northern Cheyenne pow wow celebrates water agreement.

LAME DEER, Mont. -- The signing of a landmark water agreement among state, federal and tribal officials will highlight the annual Northern Cheyenne Pow Wow this year.
The focus of the agreement is the Tongue River dam, a state-owned structure located south of the Northern Cheyenne Reservation and just north of the Wyoming state line. The dam, which was weakened by flooding several years ago, poses a threat to downstream communities. Federal legislation to repair the dam was passed, and a pre-construction environmental review is now in progress, ...
