Lame Deer high school gets court approval.

LAME DEER, Mont. -- A political struggle that began in the 1960s will come to a conclusion next month with the opening bell at the first public high school in Lame Deer.
A last-ditch effort by neighboring school systems to derail the plan was turned down by a district court judge, and the school is set to open Aug. 25.
District Judge Joe Hegal in mid-June denied the motion by school officials in Big Horn and Rosebud counties that sought to stay the 1993 order creating the new school system. That decision was made by the Montana Office of Public Instruction, ...
