We haven't checked the mailbag recently, so let's tackle a few
items this week.
Q. I needed to download a file from a corporate bulletin board
system and I thought it would be easy. But when I logged on, I was
offered cryptic choices such as X-modem, Y-modem, and ASCII. After
blindly making a choice, I was then asked if I wanted a text or binary
file.
Can you give me a clue as to what protocol I should use and
whether to tell it to transfer a text or binary ...
