The Rev. Richard H. Puryear, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in
Hackensack and a man described as a "pillar of the community," died of
heart failure at his home Friday. He was 75.

Rev. Puryear was the founder of two Baptist churches and was
involved in a spectrum of social and educational issues, his daughter,
Deborah Puryear-Richardson, said Monday.
