HELP FOR WINTER-RAVAGED AZALEAS

The reds, purples, and lavenders of azaleas will be blossoming into
full color by this weekend, horticulturists predict, but the floral
glory this year may be subdued and mottled compared with seasons past.

"At Skylands, a lot of the broad-leaved evergreen azaleas and
rhododendrons browned and died back during the harsh winter," says Rich
Flynn, the head of horticulture at the New Jersey State Botanical
Gardens at Skylands.
