National Katyn Memorial Proposed For Baltimore Inner Harbor.

Mayor Kurt Schmoke has responded positively to a proposal for a National Katyn Memorial in the highly visible Inner Harbor area. The National Katyn Memorial Committee, based in Baltimore and headed by Alfred Wisniewski and sculptor Andrzej Pitynski, have joined forces in an effort to create a monument to the 15,000 Polish Army officers and civilian professionals who died at the hands of the Soviets in 1940.
