FIRM ASKS FOR TOWER VARIANCES -- PLANS POWER PLANT FOR RINGWOOD SITE

A 100-megawatt electric generating plant will be built in Ringwood
by 1994 if a company that has contracted to provide power to Orange and
Rockland Utilities wins necessary approvals.

The Ringwood Board of Adjustment is being asked to approve
construction of two towers that will be used to collect weather data
needed to gain a state air quality permit required for the plant.
