Logic would dictate that the release of a boxed anthology would cut
into sales of a performer's previous recorded works.
After all, boxed sets usually gather an artist's best material -- as
well as outtakes and rarities -- into one tidy, package, leaving little
or no need to purchase previous collections.
These anthologies -- ranging from $30 to $70 -- are also pricey
affairs, leaving little spare change for additional purchases.
