As first vice-president of the Bergen County Council of Churches, I
am writing to express the severe dissatisfaction of our council, and the
entire religious community of Bergen County, to the proposal to reduce
the professional chaplaincy program's budget from $321,000 to $90,000. I
am also writing to express my personal outrage concerning your
ill-informed editorial, which supported this proposal.
