COPS SEIZE ASSAULT RIFLE -- SAY MAN USED IT TO SCARE BOYS

PATERSON -- A businessman annoyed at two teenagers playing in front of his
store on Tuesday scared them off by grabbing a loaded assault rifle from
behind a counter and walking toward them, police said.

"The kids ran -- fast," said Detective James Wood.

The businessman, Mohammed Baraka, 33, of Garfield, was charged with
two counts of assault and one count of unlawful possession of an assault
firearm, a Chinese-made AK-47 with a folding stock, police said.
