Innu hunting land flooded for electricity.

SEPT-ILES, Quebec -- Three checks totalling $8 million exchanged hands here recently symbolizing triumph for one Montagnais community, a lost battle for another.
The checks were handed over to the chairman of the Uashat-Maliotenam Band, Chief Eli-Jacques Jourdain, by the president and chief operating officer of Hydro-Quebec, as payment for the destruction of a river valley of the Ste. Marguerite River used by the band for hunting and fishing.
