COLTS NECK -- Bill Purdey, the master of Greenfields, was remarkably chipper
Friday afternoon for a man who had pulled an all-nighter.

It's foaling season, and Purdey had spent a fruitless overnight
vigil with a boarder mare nine days overdue.

"In the evening about 8:30, it looked like she was getting ready,"
Purdey said. "Nothing happened. I guess the foal just moved a little."
