Demetria Laousis stood by her folding chair amid the cheers on the
floor of Madison Square Garden, holding her anger and her hand-scrawled
sign that proclaimed "animal liberation." This was not a pretty sight.
Laousis, of Bergenfield, is a "Brownie" -- meaning that she is an
official delegate for former California Gov. Jerry Brown, one of 27 from
New Jersey among the 610 at the Democratic National Convention. She is
also 25 years old, and, like most Brownies here, she is a novice. This
