The owners of a swath of land on Passaic's Eastside that was
devastated by the 1985 Labor Day fire have found a builder to develop a
shopping center that would be anchored by a major supermarket.

Alan Weisman, a spokesman for the owners, announced in a news
release that G. Heller Enterprises Inc. of Englewood Cliffs, is
"finalizing plans" for the development.

Councilman Herbert M. Sorkin on Tuesday said the plan will have to
