A West New York man, who has undergone three criminal trials since
entering the United States with the Mariel boatlift from Cuba, was
convicted Friday of threatening to kill his former girlfriend five days
after his release from prison last year.

Aurelio Chenique Puey, 40, also known as Aurelio Gonzalez, was
found guilty of making terroristic threats. The verdict was reached by a
Superior Court jury in Paterson that deliberated about 3 1/2 hours, said
