A 21-year-old woman from Paramus was acquitted Friday of attempted
murder in the shooting of her pimp in New York City.

Elizabeth Ann Dugan had claimed she shot Robert Staudinger, 27, four
times in self defense after he tried to rape her.

In a Manhattan courtroom on Friday, she dropped to her chair and
wept after the jury foreman pronounced her not guilty in the shooting
last December. Staudinger hired her in March 1991 as a "quality lady"
