HACKENSACK -- Faulty electrical wiring sparked two house fires over the New
Year's weekend, gutting the upstairs and attics of both homes and
injuring a city man, authorities said.

The first fire came less than three hours into the New Year, when
firetrucks raced to 186 Stanley Place on Friday morning to extinguish a
two-alarm blaze, Fire Chief Ronald Freeman said.
