Ultimately, some things in life are inescapable.

Like the Super Bowl.

One year, I tried to avoid it by going to a movie -- by myself, of
course.

Despite the extraordinarily poor turnout, it took forever to get in,
because the ticket seller, collector, and theater manager were otherwise
occupied. Huddled around a TV in the ticket booth, they were watching
