Wednesday's news conference for the 30th annual Dodge Open Charity
Classic was supposed to be a day to revel in the efforts and generosity
of many who have made it the most charitable local golf tournament in
the tri-state area, in addition to offering the richest purse for club
pros.
Media from throughout the metropolitan area arrived at Rockaway
River Country Club in Denville. Various supporters of the event, which
has raised $872,840 since its inception, including $180,000 last season,
