Cynthia Ozick Dramatizes The Diabolical Imagination:. Novelist-Turned-Playwright Tackles `The Big Lie'
`This is not a Holocaust play," Cynthia Ozick declares adamantly, describing "Blue Light," which will open Aug. 10 at Sag Harbor's Bay Street Theater Festival. "It is about the devil and his illusions."
That Ms. Ozick has written a play at all may surprise readers who know her as the accomplished author of short stories, novels and essays. Less surprising is that she has addressed herself to diabolical forces.
