When news of two sample sales in New York City arrived in the mail
last week -- a Max Mara sale at Le Firme and a Moe Ginsburg men's
clothing sale -- I turned to my New York shopping bible and my shopping
gurus.
The bible is "The New York Edge," a guidebook on surveys of
supershoppers. My gurus are "Edge" authors Jane Lockshin and Sue
Dollinger. The "Edge" told me that Le Firme consistently has Max Mara
fashions at 50 percent off, with a good selection, and also stocks
high-end ...
