FAIRFAX, Okla. -- Not a lot of footsteps grace the walkways of the tiny town of Fairfax in the spacious prairie lands of northern Oklahoma, but there are a lot of spirits.
And on, Sept. 17, 1994, in the first public tribute to the countless Osages who were slain for their oil wealth in the 1920s, the spirits came out to talk.
No fewer than 150 people attended the day-long bus tour, luncheon and book signing that were part of the day's events; and each of the 150 carried with them the heavy memories of the hundreds and possibly thousands of ...
