Even though the late, great John Coltrane is considered to be one of the greatest tenor players of modern jazz, not too many players have made the decision to carry on his artistic and musical vision. His expressionistic delivery and spiritual vision may have had a distinct influence on jazz since the 60s, but it seems the one of the few to continue the direction set by Coltrane has been his former cohort and protegee, Pharoah Sanders.
