Gordon Parks: Transforming Renaissance self for the '90s.

Gordon Parks sits in his apartment over the United Nations, smoking a pipe. The atmosphere around him is still, almost silent. An aria voice, almost as quiet as the music by a Russian composer playing peacefully in the background, breaks the silence. Parks has a lot to say nowadays, more than any of his books, more than all of the photographs he has taken depicting the misery of racism, and more than any of the concerts he has arranged on the piano.
