(The GW Hatchet) (U-WIRE) WASHINGTON -- Mount Vernon College used to sit tucked away peacefully in the northwest corner of the District since its founding more than 120 years ago.
But since George Washington took control of the college in October 1996 some of that tranquillity has been lost and a busier, more dynamic campus rose up in its place.
This summer marked the end of an 18-month transition for Mount Vernon and one of the most tumultuous periods in the history of the school.
