Poll Indicates Swing To Spring.

A poll in the Sunday Independent has shown little sympathy for outgoing Taoiseach Albert Reynolds. While 73% of those polled claimed there was no need for an election, an overwhelming 85% thought Reynolds was right to resign, with only 10% of the opinion that he should remain.

Ironically, 58% of voters gave a favorable response when asked if the coalition had performed well to this point. Only 36% were dissatisfied. The poll was taken last Friday among 1,059 adults at 75 locations throughout the country.

Voting intentions of voters also show a swing away from Fianna Fail, who received 41% support, a drop of nine points. Fine ...
