NOBODY'S FOOL: The Lives of Danny Kaye.
Danny Kaye died seven years ago at the age of 74, but the internationally adored entertainer wasn't allowed to rest very long. Just a few years later, Kaye momentarily regained our attention when Donald Spoto maintained in his biography of Laurence Oliver that the great British actor and the American comedian had a long-running love affair.
Naturally enough, no subsequent biographer of Kaye can ignore such a sensational assertion. Martin Gottfried deals with it, but not very successfully. He says flatly that there are neither evidence nor witnesses to support the claim. It remains unclear, however, just what ...
