FED: House prices rise 2.3 per cent in June quarter

CANBERRA, Sept 2 AAP - House price rises in Sydney and Melbourne continue to outstrip those
in other capital cities, with overall house prices rising by 2.3 per cent in Australia in the
three months to June, new figures show.

This follows gains of 1.8 per cent in the March quarter and 1.7 per cent in the December
quarter last year.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) said Melbourne house prices rose by 4.0 per cent
