As we come upon the 27th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King. As might be expected, there are a multiplicity of local, state, and national ceremonies and memorials to mark the occasion. In my judgment, there is so much pomp and circumstance, so many commemorations, and so much celebration, indeed mystification of the man and his life that we are in danger of losing the real force and power of this courageous drum major for justice.
