A Shining Light For Racial Reconciliation

As Sacramento moves into the holiday season, the streets and malls are once again decorated for Christmas and everyone is looking for that special gift.

My Christmas desire is decidedly less material than most people's hope: I desire that 1999 becomes the year when men and women truly reach across racial, ethnic and denominational lines to form a "more perfect" city.

If that happens, this city will be a better place and a good deal of the credit should go to a group if unheralded pastors doing God's work.

At some point in American history, there will be a historic study of race relations.
