OAKLAND (CA) -- Joo Kim stretches his arms and legs in a relatively quiet corner at King's Boxing Gym in Oakland, Calif. The loud breathing and punching sound from the boxers across the gym doesn't appear to break him concentration.
Kim resumes his fighting position after several pushups. Staring at his imaginary opponent, Kim punches with his fist harder and faster each time. From time to time, he will kick at his imaginary foe in defense.
