Malcolm X Daughter 'Lured': Attorney Says Qubilah Shabazz Enticed By. Friend Into Death Plot

NEW YORK -- History reveals that just before 3:30 p.m. on February 21, 1965, Malcolm X leaned over a podium at the packed Audubon Ballroom in Harlem, and wished his followers peace.

"A salaam alaikem (peace be with you)," he said.

"Wa alaikem salaam (And unto you peace)," a chorus of voices replied.

Some 400 people had turned out that quiet Sunday afternoon to hear Malcolm X speak. They sat on folding chairs on the woodfloored dance parlor upstairs at the Audubon.

It was exactly one week after Malcolm X's home had been firebombed.
