Election of Catholicos of All Armenians -- Can We Be More Broadminded?.
There are four hierachical Sees in the Armenian Apostolic Church: Catholicosate of All Armenians in Etchmiadzin, Catholicosate of the Holy See of Cilicia (Antelias), Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and Patriarchate of Constantinople (Istanbul).
The Armenian Church was originally centered in the city of Vagharshabad which was the capital city in the 4th century. In 484 AD, when Dvin became the capital, the Holy See moved there where it remained until the city was destroyed by a fire in 893 AD.
