Author Says Gandhis Failed to Modernize India.

"Rajiv Gandhi and Rama's Kingdom" deals with Maneka Gandhi's ouster from the Gandhi family after Sanjay's death, the Sikh uprising, the Rajiv era, post-Rajiv India and finally the infamous Mandir-Masjid controversy.

At the end of his book, the author charges the Nehru-Gandhi leadership with failing to modernize India. The book's title fuses the whimsical feudal authority with which this "dynasty" ruled and the eventual Hindu fanaticism that washed across the country.
