Doubts About India's Democracy Unfounded.
For 40 years during the cold war, India, with its robust democracy, was held in high esteem by American liberals. Today many of the same liberals have become highly critical of that same democracy. Much of the disenchantment is no doubt caused by the continuing insurgency n Kashmir - a problem that India has not been either able to back away from or satisfactorily resolve.
