Morris: Pirates Rookie of Year?

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Three months into his first major league season, Warren Morris of the Pittsburgh Pirates has received perhaps the ultimate compliment for a young second baseman.

He has earned the Bill Mazeroski seal of approval.

Mazeroski, regarded as the best-fielding second baseman in history, got his first in-person look at Morris this week after working with him for 10 days early in spring training.

Mazeroski's assessment: Good field, good hit, good power, good player, good person.
